Zenfone 9 is the new compact device of the Taiwanese brand ASUS, and no, we’re not talking about a new laptop as you probably expected. ASUS knows how to create powerful smartphones as well, and it’s indeed proving it with the new Zenfone 9.
ASUS Zenfone 9 is surprisingly powerful considering its small size. You know what they say that looks are deceiving, and it’s especially available here as well. The SUPER AMOLED 120Hz display measures only 5.9 inches, while the phone itself measures 146.5 x 68.1 x 9.1 mm and it weighs only 169 g. The chances are great that you’ll get to handle the device with only one hand. The highlights of the gadget are represented by the high-end Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset, the RAM memory that can be up to 16GB, and the main camera setup that reaches 50MP and is able to record video in 8K quality.
Pre-orders on Amazon are available at $699
9to5Google reveals that the new ASUS Zenfone 9 flagship was spotted on Amazon, and customers from the US will be able to grab it for $699. For that money, you can grab the version with 8GB RAM and 128GB of RAM.
Otherwise, the phone also has a 256GB version, but storage shouldn’t be a problem nowadays. There’s no slot for a memory card available on the Zenfone 9, but we all know that there are also plenty of cloud storage options available out there on the internet.
The new ASUS phone was even announced for international markets in late July. If you want the 16GB/256GB version of the Zenfone 9, you’ll have to pay 100 bucks more, meaning $799. That’s more than a fair deal for a version that has twice more RAM memory and storage.
ASUS Zenfone 9 also comes equipped with Android 12 out of the box, and that’s excellent news for those who want to benefit from the best of what Google’s OS for mobile phones has to offer. One of the best things in Android 12 is the presence of a new indicator in the phone’s status bar that informs the user when an app is using the camera or microphone.
The new flagship from ASUS is also performing quite well during the tests. According to GSMArena, the phone’s processor scored 1083092 (v9) in AnTuTu and 4338 (v5.1) in Geekbench. These results aren’t surprising at all for a high-end processor, as they only confirm the power of the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset.
If you want another reason to be assured that ASUS Zenfone 9 is indeed a strong device, you can keep in mind that it also comes equipped with IP68-rated resistance to water and dust. This is obviously much more advanced than just resistance to splashes, as you’ll be able to carry the phone while you’re walking on a rainy day without having much to worry about.
In a world where battery life is not the stronghold of most smartphones, ASUS Zenfone 9 is doing pretty well in this area as well. Packing a Li-Po battery of 4,300mAh, the phone assures the user that he will definitely leave the charger at home a few times.
