WhatsApp 23.10.76 Brings the Companion Mode to iOS Users

Who wants the new Companion Mode of WhatsApp? Many of those who use iPhones have been craving to get the feature since it has already arrived on Android phones a few weeks ago. Meanwhile, the gods of smartphones have heard the call of iPhone users!

WhatsApp has now introduced the Companion mode for iOS users, and it’s currently rolling out, according to WABetaInfo. In other words, keeping your iPhone or other iOS device connected to a WiFi network is crucial in getting the new Companion Mode feature for WhatsApp. Or, you can just check your official marketplaces, such as the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store.

You can connect up to four iPhones to a single account

The latest version, 23.10.76, is now up for grabs on the App Store. Similar to its Android counterpart, the new feature allows users to connect up to four iPhones to a single WhatsApp account. With the Companion mode, users can sync their chat history across multiple devices, ensuring that all messages are delivered to each of the devices that are connected. It is also important to keep in mind that WhatsApp maintains end-to-end encryption for all conversations, even on linked devices, which ensures the security and privacy of user data.

Meanwhile, on the Android platform, WhatsApp for businesses is set to receive a new feature known as Status archive. This functionality, which was spotted in a beta version of the software, allows business owners to archive specific account statuses. This means that businesses can store and reuse certain statuses as needed in the future, streamlining their communication and saving time when managing their business presence on WhatsApp.

WhatsApp also prepares unique usernames

There’s also information on the internet indicating that Meta is working to implement unique usernames for everyone on WhatsApp. There’s no need to be the reincarnation of Einstein to realize what that means: you will no longer need a phone number to make yourself a WhatsApp account. You will no longer need a person’s phone number if you want to text them or call them on the famous instant-messaging app. WABetaInfo also supports the information regarding the implementation of usernames.

While it will surely mean an extra amount of comfort for many if they will no longer need phone numbers to have a WhatsApp account, others strongly disagree with the possible plan. But hey, you know how things usually go in life: you just cannot please everyone, regardless of what you do.

These updates from WhatsApp demonstrate once again, if there was still necessary, the company’s commitment to enhancing user experiences and providing new functionalities for both individual and business users. The upcoming Status archive feature for WhatsApp Business on Android will provide businesses with better organization and efficiency when it comes to managing their account statuses.
