Foldable smartphones are becoming more and more popular, and there’s no wonder why. Who wouldn’t prefer a device that can be folded at any time, thus having a larger display than most smartphones right in his pocket? You can use a foldable device to read ebooks in a much more efficient way compared to how you can do it on a regular smartphone.
Samsung is one of those companies that have already impressed the world with their foldable gadgets. Since devices such as the Galaxy Z Fold 4 or Galaxy Z Flip 4 have impressed the tech world with their amazing capabilities, Samsung doesn’t plan to end there. The South Korean giant is already preparing another special foldable phone for next year, one that easily falls into the ‘midrange’ category.
Samsung’s next foldable will likely be the Galaxy Flip6 FE
The news about Samsung preparing a new foldable device for the midrange sector comes from a TrendForce report. Although it’s still not clear if the future phone will have a clamshell design or one that resembles a book, as in the Galaxy Z Fold 4 style, the device will likely be called the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip6 FE. As you probably already know, ‘FE’ stands for Fan Edition, indicating that the future phone won’t have specs as great as the non-FE variant.
As you’ve already guessed, the price for the alleged Galaxy Z Flip 6 FE will also be more than acceptable for a foldable device. It will revolve around $400 to $500, which means that pretty much anyone can afford buying the gadget. If the information is true, it means that foldables have never been any cheaper, and who on Earth would say ‘no’ to both quality and accessible price at the same time?
Samsung has set the price target for the mid-range foldable at $400 to $500. This is a very aggressive goal. https://t.co/7tEZONw0Jw— Revegnus (@Tech_Reve) November 10, 2023
If we compare the price with the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5, for instance, we notice a great difference. Samsung’s foldable that came out back in August can be bought at a price of $800. That’s twice compared to how much the Galaxy Flip 6 FE will likely cost. Z Flip 5 harnesses the high-end powers of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, while the device also stands out for having a Foldable Dynamic AMOLED display of 6.7 inches, a refresh rate of 120Hz, and HDR10+. The phone is also capable of recording videos in 4K on both sides – either with the front or the rear camera.
Once again, Samsung is eager to prove that it’s possible to have quality for a smartphone without costing an arm and a leg.
