We think it’s fair to say that technology does improve various aspects of our lives. From the way we socialise to the way we work, it’s a whole new world thanks to the latest technology on the market. But one of the best ways tech has improved things is in our personal lives. There’s a lot of tech on the market right now that is awesome, and you might be thinking about buying it for yourself. If you haven’t heard of some of these computer gadgets, you’ll certainly want them once you finish reading this article. That’s a guarantee.

We start off in the weird and wonderful world of VR or virtual reality. Here’s a fun fact about VR. It’s not as brand new as it seems. This tech has been around for a long, long time in a primitive form. In fact, you might remember there were personal screens released at the same time as the PS2. The problem was that having a screen that close could damage your eyes, but now VR is back and better than ever. That’s thanks to the new technology that allows it to alter your perception. So, when you turn your head in the real world, you look around in the virtual one. This is what tricks the mind into thinking that the experience is actually really. We’ve still got a long way to go before someone could be tricked into thinking a virtual world was actually reality, but we’re getting there. The next step is being able to interact and move objects around using your hands with the virtual world, and the guys behind Oculus Rift are working on that right now.

But which headset should you opt for? Well, there’s Google Cardboard if you want the cheapest option. It still provides a pretty cool VR experience, if quite primitive. You can get a ride on a rollercoaster or soar through 3D cartoon version of the Arctic.

Alternatively, you can think about investing in the PlayStation VR. It’s probably the cheapest Pro VR  system around. Despite a variety of games with VR features, there’s not that much content right now. You might want to wait until later in the year.

Then, there’s the Oculus Rift. We’re still waiting for the tech to be fully realised for this one. But we expect it’ll be ready to go and at full power when Scorpio is released onto the market later this year.

Or, if you want some fun outside with tech, you can try your hands with a drone. Drones come in all shapes and sizes these days. According to, there are a lot of cool drones that are available for less than one thousand. Our personal favourite? That would be the Star Wars drones that were released last year just in time for Christmas. These hi-tech toys can spin in mid air, have space battles and have all the official sound effects. We’re just waiting for them to release the Millennium Falcon and we will be good to go.

If you want something simpler, you can purchase a mini drone. Smaller than your hand, these little bugs zip around in an outdoors and come with full HD cameras. They are quite an advanced piece of spy kit once you get the hang of flying them. Small drones are quite difficult to control, particularly outside where wind can be a problem.

Do you want some real fun? Try mixing flying a drone with a virtual headset. This is probably the closest you can get to feel like you’re flying high in the sky while sitting on your sofa.

Wireless Earphones

If you want Apple’s latest great tech, forget about the new iPhone. Instead, focus your attention on their new wireless earphones. The air pods are great and come with a charging case to keep them safe as well as making it easy to charge them while you’re out. If you’re worried about losing them, Apple have solved this issue. When you take an earphone out  the music will stop. So, you’ll immediately be aware when you lose one and hopefully be able to pick it right back up.

There are a few different variations of wireless earphones on the market right now. But Apple’s are probably the best, and the only problem is getting your hands on them. Currently, there’s a seven-week wait on any orders. You can order them on

There’s lots of personal computer tech on the market right now that is great fun to play around with. You better start saving if you want to buy it though because none of it is cheap!
