Since Google released the stable Android 13 update back in August, it was only a matter of time before the new version of the operating system arrived on many smartphones. Nokia is now jumping on the bandwagon as well with a few of its models, as the company seems eager to prove that it can still be one of the most important smartphone manufacturers out there, despite the numerous changes that the brand has been through.
NOTEBOOKCHECK, quoting ITHome as the main source, reveals Nokia’s new plan regarding the Android 13 update for some of the company’s smartphones. The plan consists of the first wave of phones that will be receiving the new update of Google’s mobile operating system, and pretty much all of the devices from the list have been released relatively recently.
Android 13 will arrive on Nokia smartphones soon
Although HMD Global has confirmed the upcoming arrival of the Android 13 in a soon update for several Nokia models, it’s anybody’s guess at this point what that “soon” actually means. It’s safe to assume, however, that it won’t take more than a few weeks for the new Android 13 update to land on the first Nokia phones.
Now it’s time to find out what are the exact Nokia models that will be first targetted by the new Android 13 update:
- Nokia XR20
- Nokia G50
- Nokia G11+
- Nokia X10
- Nokia X20
It’s a pleasant surprise that not all Nokia phones listed above are high-end devices. Some are actually entry-level gadgets, as in the case of the standard G11 model. Nokia G11 was released back in March, and it features only 3 to 4GB of RAM. It also comes in two storage versions: 32GB and 64GB. However, the phone’s 5050mAh battery certainly represents a feature that stands out.
We can also see Nokia phones released last year in the list, and that’s certainly not a surprise. It’s nice to see that not only top models are getting the new Android 13 update, whether they were created by Nokia or not.
On the other hand, Nokia X20 is arguably the best phone from the aforementioned list, at least when it comes to the cameras. Released back in May 2021, the X20 model features a powerful 64MP camera consisting of four lenses and a selfie camera that reaches 32MP. The video recording cannot exceed HD quality, but still, you can likely take some interesting photos with this phone. Nokia X20 also comes equipped with 6 to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. If you want more storage space, you can easily use a microSDXC card.
Feel free also to check out a previous article about several top Samsung models receiving the Android 13-based One UI 5.0 update. Smartphones such as the Galaxy S22, S21, Z Flip 4, or Z Fold 4 are on the list, while the presence of the Galaxy A53 model is one of the pleasant surprises of that wave of the Android 13 update.
