While 2022 is getting closer and closer to the end of the road, we can’t say the same about a top phone manufacturer like Motorola. The company has just unveiled the new Moto X40 and Moto G53 models. The Moto X40 is also known as the Motorola Edge+ (2023).
Both devices come equipped with Android 13 out of the box, and at least the Moto X40 model sports the new and next-gen Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor from Qualcomm. While the Moto X40 supports up to 512GB of storage space, its competitor features only 128 GB. However, it needs to be said that the latter model also supports the addition of a microSDXC memory card, while the other one doesn’t. If you need even more storage space than 512GB, which would indeed be possible nowadays, you have no other option but to store your files on an external disk drive or seek cloud storage options.
Motorola Moto X40: lots of hardware power
Without a single doubt, the Moto X40 model is the winner between the two new phones from Motorola. You don’t need too much time to become convinced of that. Moto X40 features a large 6.7-inch OLED display that sports an insane refresh rate: 165Hz. HDR10+ is also present there.
The existence of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset among the specs of the Moto X40 is clearly the main highlight. The phone also supports up to 12GB of RAM, although the 8GB version should do just fine for most people.
Motorola Moto X40 also has features such as accelerometer, under display and optical fingerprint sensor, gyro, proximity, compass, and
Ready For 3.5 support. The battery reaches 4,600mAh.
If you want to buy the new Motorola Moto X40, which is also known as the Motorola Edge+ (2023), you’ll need to pay around 460 euros. You can get the device in either Black or Blue color.
Motorola Moto G53: the less expensive option
The new Motorola Moto G53 is clearly the less expensive of the two models, as it is priced at about 120 euros. For that kind of money, you would get a pretty decent device if you choose to buy the Moto G53. Its main highlights are the 4-8GB of RAM, the 5,000mAh battery, and the 50MP wide camera.
Both the front and rear cameras of the Moto G53 are able to record video only in Full HD, and that could be a downside when we consider the standards of nowadays.
Other useful features of the Motorola Moto G53 are the side-mounted Fingerprint sensor, accelerometer, gyro, compass, as well as virtual proximity sensing. The phone is available in Black or White.
While Motorola Moto G53 is an entry-level device more suitable for those who don’t have high demands from a smartphone, its sibling, the Moto X40 model, is definitely a flagship.
