We can remember two or three years ago when many tech lovers were amazed to hear about the main camera setup on a smartphone that featured around 48MP. Who would have guessed that technology would evolve so dramatically as it did? Motorola is one of those companies eager to prove that it can still release smartphones that are capable enough to compete with those of Apple, Huawei, or Samsung.
The new Motorola Edge 30 has now been unveiled, and we can take a look at its amazing list of specs, courtesy of the company’s official website. The first thing that catches our attention is obviously the huge camera setup mounted on the rear. As Motorola also says, we’re talking about “the industry’s highest-resolution camera,” and it couldn’t have been otherwise when we look at those insane numbers.
The first 200MP camera in the smartphone industry
The new Motorola Edge 30 Ultra features a whooping 200MP camera sensor on the main setup. With such a camera, users can fit more in the frame without having to sacrifice the quality of the image. We have to admit that it sure sounds like a great deal! The ultra-wide sensor is capable of sharpening the details even in low light.
As you’ve probably already guessed, the 200MP resolution doesn’t represent the only aspect that deserves attention. The camera of Motorola’s new Edge 30 Ultra also features HDR Technology, Ultra Pixel Technology in 4K, and Optimal Image Stabilization. The video recording part doesn’t fall short, either. Motorola’s new powerhouse is also capable of recording Ultra HD (8K) video.
If you want to capture a certain object in a photo and even enlarge it fourfold compared to how it would look using a usual lens, that’s also possible with the new Motorola phone, thanks to its Macro Vision feature.
Surely everyone likes portraits, and the guys from Motorola know it very well! There’s no wonder why they also added a 12MP telephoto portrait camera. This tool is capable of recreating facial features in a faithful and beautiful way.
Powered by Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1
The Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor is the one powering the new Motorola Edge 30 Ultra, and it surely makes a great team along with up to 12 GB of LPDDR5 RAM. The chipset offers huge performance that’s even enhanced by AI. That means that the chipset will provide improved image processing, faster speeds, and more. The up to 512 GB of built-in UFS 3.1 storage also allows the user to keep many large files in the smartphone. You can also opt for a 128GB or 256GB version of storage. One possible downside here is that there’s no possibility of adding a card slot, but you probably won’t even need one.
Motorola Edge 30 Ultra can also be considered a device for gaming, as it’s capable of exploiting the Snapdragon Elite Gaming, which allows smarter gameplay. Players can use voice commands, enjoy steady support, and more.
According to GSMArena, the price for Motorola’s new phone revolves around the amount of 900 euros.
