Innovative Tech For Better Business Marketing

Looking for innovative and clever ways to market your business? If so, you should be looking at many of the amazing technology products that are out there right now. While most people regard the digitisation of marketing as the only tech they need, they couldn’t be further from the truth. It’s disruption in the more traditional fields of marketing that are benefitting most – and we’re going to take a look at some of them with you today. Read on to find out more.

Incredible billboards

If you live in one of the country’s bigger cities, you might have noticed technology is changing the traditional advertisements we are all used to. Smart tech is enabling marketers and advertisers to think beyond the 2D limits of the billboard in many different ways.

Consider the Economist’s ‘lightbulb moment’ ad that lights up when people walk beneath it as if they are having an amazing idea as a great example. Or the amazing ad for the 2010 Calgary International Film Festival with a huge image of a man watching a movie – with what looks like real tears streaming down his face.

The only limits to what can be achieved with technology and billboard ads are the imaginations of you and your marketing teams.

High-flying drones

Drones are increasingly becoming a feature in today’s marketing and advertising world.

Let’s say you are an estate agent that is selling a home in the countryside, with incredible views and surrounded by scenery.  If you were to buy DJI Inspire 2 Drone units, for example, all you need to do is hook up a camera and learn how to fly them. Within a couple of hours, you could have fantastic pictures of the property surroundings that will give viewers and prospective buyers a much better idea of the area than you can achieve on foot.

Drone tech is also being used more in advertisements – those sweeping air shots you see are much cheaper than they used to be, as there is no need for advertisers to hire private planes and film crews.

Geolocation applications

Geolocation apps are enabling marketers to get in touch with customers in real time. Imagine you are a retail store with a strong email list of clients.

In the past, you would send them emails and hope that they pop by your shop later on in the day. But if you can persuade your customers to download your geolocation app, it’s possible to send them special deals, discounts, and other reasons for coming into your store – but only when they are in the vicinity. It’s a much more targeted method of reaching out to your customers and is having tremendous results for the most innovative retailers out there.

Many retailers are worried about the impact digital marketing is having on their sales, but, clearly, it’s possible to use many aspects of the technology to your benefit.

Are you a marketer or business owner who is using these – or any other – examples of innovative technology for marketing purposes? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section!
