Huawei amazed the world back in early 2021 when it proved that not only the big rival Samsung could create powerful and foldable phones. The new Mate X2 foldable smartphone of the Chinese brand has a huge foldable OLED display of 8 inches. The phone stands out for other interesting features as well, and we can mention the Kirin 9000 5G chipset of 5 nm, the 12GB of RAM, and a lot more.
SparrowsNews brings the information, by quoting Weibo as the main source, that Huawei Mate X3 will impress us soon thanks to its foldable design and flagship specs. The upcoming model has surpassed the prototype phase, which means that it’s approaching its launch. Huawei will apply a design similar to the one that the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 flaunts.
Huawei Mate X3 will also have a cover display
When the main display of 8 inches that the Huawei Mate X3 shall use won’t be needed, a cover display, as well as a rear panel, will offer protection.
Another interesting claim about the upcoming phone from Huawei is that it shall be featuring a 4G/LTE-only version of Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. That processor represents what Qualcomm has to offer best. When we know that the processor alone of an upcoming device is top-end, it’s more than reasonable to assume that the rest of the gadget is also impressive.
If we take a look at the Galaxy Z Fold 4 foldable phone from Samsung, we realize that its display is significantly smaller compared to what the Huawei Mate X2 that came out last year has to offer. Huawei’s device has a display that measures 8 inches, which makes it reasonable to expect that Mate X3 will have a similar display or one that’s even larger.
If we continue to look at the overall specs of the Huawei Mate X2, we immediately get an idea of how good its successor could be. Mate X3 should have specs that are at least as good as the ones present on the Huawei Mate X2.
The main camera present on the Huawei Mate X2, for instance, consists of a quad setup. The main lens is wide, and it reaches 50MP. It also features multi-directional PDAF, Laser AF, and OIS. The telephoto lens is capable of 12MP, and it features PDAF, OIS, and 3x optical zoom. There’s also a periscope telephoto lens of 8MP and features such as PDAF, OIS, and 10x optical zoom. The ultrawide lens of 16MP and AF is also worth mentioning. Therefore, we can expect even more from the cameras of the Huawei Mate X3.
Huawei Mate X2 comes with Android 10 out of the box, but that surely won’t be the case for the phone’s successor. It’s reasonable to expect that Mate X3 will be equipped with Android 13 or at least Android 12.
Of course, in the end, it’s best to take the information regarding the design of the Huawei Mate X3 with a grain of salt. What’s for sure is that we won’t have to wait too long to be clarified, although there’s no release date revealed yet.
