How To Block Calls On Your Android Lollipop – Tutorial For All Phones

We’re pretty sure that there has been many times where you have wanted to block calls from a certain phone number. Whether it was your ex-boyfriend or ex-girlfriend, an annoying friend or someone whom you don’t even know, you had to stop the calls at all costs.

Well, today we’re going to teach you everything you need to know in order to stop anyone from calling your mobile phone number on your Android device.

For the sake of keeping up to date, we’ll also let you know how to block calls on devices that have been updated to Android Lollipop also. However, it hasn’t changed much from Android KitKat.

Samsung Galaxy S4, Samsung Galaxy S4, Samsung Galaxy S6 and Samsung Note 4

In order to block all incoming calls from an individual contact/phone number on your Samsung device that’s running on Android Lollipop, you will need to open the Phone Application and select “Call Log”. After that, select the contact/phone number that you want to block and tap on the “More” button, that’s located on the top-right side of the screen and add it to the “auto reject list”.

That’s everything that you will need to do to block that contact/phone number from calling you.

HINT: If you want to remove a contact/phone number from the “auto reject list”, you will need to open the Phone application, select More->Settings->Call rejection->Auto reject list and remove the contact/phone number from that “black list”.

It’s quite strange, but devices that come with Android Lollipop pre-installed don’t have an integrated call-blocking feature. Weather you have the blocking feature or not depends on the carrier. To check if you have the feature, you will need to open the Phone application, type the number you want to block and then tap on the Menu button from the top right side and select Details. If your carrier allows blocking phone number, you will notice an “Add to blacklist” or “Reject Call” option.

However, if you don’t have this feature, don’t worry because you can install the “Calls Blacklist” application from the Google Play Store, which allows you to block any phone number you want.

HTC One M7, HTC One M8 and HTC One M9

Likewise Samsung, HTC comes with a super easy tool to block calls. You will be able to easily manage the blocked numbers. In order to block a phone number on your HTC Phone, you will need to open the Phone application and go to the Call History. After that, tap on the “Call History”, select the search icon and find the number you want to block. After that, long tap on the number that you want to block and select “Block caller”.

In order to manage the blocked contact, tap on the menu icon (the top right button) under the Phone application and select “Blocked contacts”. Here, you will be able to add more phone numbers to the list or even remove some phone numbers that you already blocked. Also, you will be able to see when your device has blocked calls or messages from a contact.

Sony Xperia Z2, Sony Xperia Z3 and Sony Xperia Z3 Compact

The Xperia Z series mobile devices doesn’t come with an in-built block calling feature, so you will need to use the Calls Blacklist application in order to block annoying persons. After installing Calls Blacklist, you will need to open the application, tap on the “+” button and select the phone number from either: “From calls log”, “From contacts”, “From Messages Log” or even enter the phone number “Manually”.

HINT: You can also block all “Private Numbers” or all “Unknown Numbers” (except the phone numbers that you have in your phonebook) by selecting the “Settings” button from the top right side of the Calls Blacklist application.

LG G2, LG G3 and LG G4

The LG Phones come with a strange tool for blocking numbers. If you own an LG device that runs on Android Lollipop and you receive a call from a phone number that you want to block, you will need to drag the “red phone” number into the center. This will add the phone number directly to the “Call reject list”. In order to manage the “Call reject list” you will need to go to Settings->Wireless and Networks->Call->Call Reject->Reject calls. Here, you will see all the blocked phone numbers, but you will also be able to remove them from the list or even add more by tapping the “+” button. You can also select to reject all the “Private” phone numbers.
