Perhaps we all know that Dragon Ball games often receive new updates to keep up with the latest additions of either the manga or the anime, but how often do developers dive back into the old stuff? Dragon Ball Z Kakarot will soon receive the ‘Chaos at the World Tournament’ DLC, an expansion that brings back the Piccolo Jr. Saga from the very first Dragon Ball series.
Young Dragon Ball fans might be extremely surprised to find out that Piccolo was once a villain. The Namekian had some very dark ambitions back in the distant past when Goku was a child and a teenager. Piccolo tried to take over the world and kill anyone who would possibly pose a threat. Therefore, it was only a matter of time before he ran into Goku.
The Piccolo we know nowadays is actually the reincarnation of King Piccolo Daimao, a more evil version of the Namekian. However, the reincarnation of King Piccolo gave Goku the battle of his life at that time during the final of the World Martial Arts Tournament, and that’s exactly what the forthcoming DLC of Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot will exploit.
Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot’s New DLC launches on August 17
Those who are willing to see Goku once again fight Piccolo with everything he has will have to wait until August 17. That’s the day when the new DLC containing the iconic battle will launch for those who enjoy playing Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot. Hopefully, the new DLC won’t be only about Goku and Piccolo. Other characters provided an entertaining presence in the tournament as well, such as Tien, Kami, Mercenary Tao, and even Krillin.
Kami, who looks exactly like Piccolo but older, put on an impressive fight as well. The two fighters confronted one another during the semifinals, and Kami took the body of somebody else to participate in the competition. Kami and Piccolo proved to be approximately equal in power, but even so, it’s Piccolo who got to fight Goku in the final during a long, devastating, and bloody battle.
Tien also had a long and exciting fight with Mercenary Tao, as the assassin came back as a cyborg. Tao was defeated by Goku long ago when the hitman’s purpose was to kill the young Saiyan. The Red Ribbon Army hired Tao for that dirty job, but it was all in vain. However, Tao was stronger than ever while fighting Tien at the World Martial Arts Tournament, and it’s interesting to see how the devs of Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot will recreate those moments.
If you haven’t been playing Dragon Ball Z Kakarot already, it’s good to know that you can do so from either one of the following platforms: PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, or Xbox Series X/S.
