Smart watches are becoming more and more popular nowadays, mobile companies are trying to keep up with the pace with all their competitors. It seems that Asus is trying to get in on the action and snap up a biggest market share as possible, as they’ve already announced the upcoming ZenWatch 2. During the Computex event, Asus announced the ZenWatch 2, which will come in two size variants. One of them will have 22mm straps, while the smaller one will feature 18mm straps.
The overall design is pretty much the same as on the old ZenWatch device. However, there is a button on the side, which Asus added to the new ZenWatch 2. Both of the ZenWatch 2 versions will feature an AMOLED screen that’s covered with a 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 3 and inside, it will hide a Qualcomm processor.
In you are looking for an “excuse” to upgrade from the previous ZenWatch to ZenWatch 2, then -it may be worth knowing that one of the reasons you should spend your money on it is because it comes with a water and dust resistance rating of IP67, which is the same as the VivoWatch. The device features a magnetic charger cable, unlike the ZenWatch that features a snap-on plastic cradle. According to Asus, the device comes with a Remote Camera feature and an enhanced Asus Wellness smartphone application.

As for the straps, they will be made from metal, soft leather or rubber and they will come in different colors. If you have a good amount of cash to spare, you should know that the Swarovski crystal strap will also be available sooner or later.
At the end of the event, Asus didn’t announce any official price of the upcoming ZenWatch 2. However, the company will most likely come out with a statement regarding its price in the coming weeks, once we find out more information, we will let you know.
